What exactly does it mean that the AsiaPacific Regional Round is going to be ``divided into South and East Asia``? Does it mean that there is going to be two small rounds in Asia?

This year's Asia-Pacific Regional Round is indeed going to be divided into South and East Asia. Both East and South Asian Rounds will take place during the same time at the same place. During the Preliminary Rounds the teams compete normally, without any division. After the Preliminary Rounds we will have double the number of Semi-Finals; one Semi-Final for countries that are considered North Asia, and one Semi-Final for countries which are considered South Asia. In each of the Semi-Finals we will have four teams (4 teams Semi-Finalists from East Asia and 4 teams Semi-Finalists from South Asia). This way we are going to select two teams from East and two teams from South Asia which are going to compete in two separate Grand Finals. Therefore, we will have a winning team from East Asia as well as a winning team from South Asia.
